Wow, what a great day for a ride. Finally spring has sprung around here. It was a beautiful 72 degrees by the end of the ride. Check out the ReLive link below, by clicking on it, and you can see where I went this morning.
I am only 2 weeks out, depending on how you count. I leave for LA on May 11th, which is 2 weeks from yesterday, but I don’t start riding until 2 weeks from tomorrow. I feel as if I am ready, I have ridden now over 2400 miles YTD, so a lot of time on the bike which is very important. Although, one can never simulate what it would be like to ride their bike across the country, except for actually doing it, the next best thing is to get a lot of time in the saddle, which I have done.
I have also dropped several lbs. so that should make the climbing a little easier. It will be interesting to see if I actually lose weight on this trip. The other ones that I have done, although they have only been week long tours, I have not lost any. It may be because of the amount of “trash” that I eat. “Trash” being junk food, like ice cream and cookies daily and during the ride. You know one needs to have a lot of carbs for energy. :)
