Good Morning, the above picture is a few miles into today’s ride, another great day, 79 miles, a lot of down hill, and some up hill as well. The weather has also been amazing, and the air a little thin in the high desert, making us work a little harder. Tomorrow will have a lot of climbing, and the last day before our rest day in Santa Fe. Today was the 3rd day in a row that I had a flat, we rode 26 miles of the 79 on I-40, again because there is no alternative, and Route 66 has been replaced by the interstate. I think we are done with the interstates, and the little wires that are getting into our tires.
Here are some pictures from the ride today.
A long straight Route 66, with very little traffic.
Geezerville, LOL
More long straight Route 66
A coupe of Post Offices in the middle of Nowhere New Mexico.
The views are just amazing from afar and close up.
Rollers, not a lot of up or down, just rolling along.
The top of a hill looking over Albuquerque, we rode down this hill for about 5-6 miles into the city.
The Rio Grande, a little underwhelming, I was thinking it would be bigger. It was also very shallow, as you could walk across it easily, see the sand mound in the distance? It was about 1-2 ft. Deep.

Here is the map from today.

Thank you for following along with me on this journey, and if you can please make a donation to the Children's Hospital below. 100% of your funds go to the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.

As a non-profit institution, the Children's Hospital provides care to the children who come through its' doors regardless of the family's ability to pay. Caring support from the community allows this level of service to continue.
I have that same picture of my Colnago on the bridge over the Rio Grande from XC17.
