My Bike Business Cards arrived today!

I am planning on handing these out to interested people from now until I leave on May the 11th, and also on the ride across the country.  I have found in past tours that people love to hear your story, and find out more about what you are doing.  I am also hoping this will help generate interest and funds donated to the wonderful Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.

Here is the link to donate:

Some Questions Answered

Thank you so much for your support.  Most of you have only found out for a few days now, that I am planning on riding my bike from sea to shining sea, and you are extremely supportive and excited for me.  AND I THANK YOU!  You have asked a lot of great questions, and I will try to answer a lot of them now, keep them coming.

Q. So when are you doing this ride?
A. I leave Nashville on Friday, May 11th

Q. Where do you start from?
A. Los Angeles, CA  See map above, that is our actual route, with the days numbered as well.

Q. Where do you end?
A. Boston, MA

Q. Are you really starting in CA?
A. Yes, we actually dip our back wheel in the Pacific Ocean at Manhattan Beach, and our front wheel in the Atlantic in Boston, MA

Q. How Many miles a day do you ride?
A. around 90, some days more, for example, in the beginning, we will ride more to get across the desert.  There aren't a lot of hotels in the middle of the desert.

Q. How many days will it take?
A. 43 riding days, and 4 rest days.

Q. How many people are doing it with you?
A. around 25 from all over

Q. Is Lynn going?
A. Yeah right! She is meeting me along the way on some rest days.

Q. Are you ready physically for this?
A. I hope so, I think so, and I still have a month and a half to train some more.

Keep the questions coming and I will answer them.

Thanks again, and if you can find it in your heart to support the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital the link is below. 100% of your funds go to the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.

So I finally did it!

On Sunday, March, 11th, I sent a BIG check to a bike tour company for the privilege of riding my bike across the USA from "sea to shining sea", from Los Angles to Boston.

I know some of you think that I am crazy, and maybe I am.  Every day will bring a new challenge, a new level of endurance and an awakening to the vast diversity of America.  I hope this adventure will be unparalleled, monumental, challenging and satisfying.

So, how does someone wake up and decide they want to ride their bike on a 3400-mile expedition from Los Angeles to Boston in 48 days?  Well, I don’t think that anyone does that, rather, it is a bucket list type of thing.  I have been an avid cyclist for many years, and have always been looking for bigger challenges, and this one is immense.

When I am riding my bike, it gives me a lot of time to reflect, think about life, and the world around me.  It is my escape.

One of the things I think about often is my late father, Neil Green.  He left this world way too early, passing away in July 2016 after a bout with cancer.  He was a great man, father, husband, brother, and son.  My father was a pediatric orthopedist at Vanderbilt for over 40 years.  As a pioneer in his field, and was always challenging those around him to be the best that they can be. He left an indelible mark on so many patients, families, residents, physicians, nurses, and staff.

The Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital was such an important place to him.  That’s why when I embarked on this journey, I knew that I wanted to give back to the Children’s Hospital in honor of his legacy.
