Trial Packing Run, a success!

So on a rainy Sunday, and I got everything done that I needed to do, including a little exercise at the fitness center, so I tried packing.  It was just a trial run, but the bags are small and I have tried to limit the amount of things that I need/want to bring, with the tour group’s suggested items, and number of things like shorts, shirts, pants, etc.

Most people would probably not be concerned about packing for a trip, BUT what if I told you I am only allowed to bring 30 TOTAL LBS.  for 49 days, and it must fit in the 2 duffle bags that they sent to me.  The sheet of paper on the top of the bags is for your reference to the size.  They aren’t big.

That is a lot of time to not have a lot of items.  I packed wisely, used zip lock bags for vitamins and medicine, bought travel size tooth paste and shaving cream, throw away razors, and only the bare essentials.

The  test was a success, and I still have room and LBS. to go if I want to add in more.

The training has been going well.  I now have logged over 2100 miles YTD.  I am feeling very good about it.

There are only 2 more weeks before I send my bike off, it will be shipped to LA on Friday May 4th.  I will try to borrow a friends bike for a couple of rides on the weekend of May 4th, just to keep my legs turning for a couple of extra days.

Thank you for following along with me on this journey, and if you can please make a donation to the Children's Hospital below.  100% of your funds go to the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.
