Tour de USA | Stage 22 Great Bend, KS 87 windy miles

It was another nice day for a ride.  Any day that you are riding your bike is a good day.  It was a much cooler day and lower humidity today. I think the high was in the mid 80’s. The problem was the wind, and it never stopped. It was coming mainly from the North and we were heading mainly northeast, so it was always in our faces.

Above is a picture of the once important place of midway USA, where the trains went through Kansas was the midway point between NYC and San Francisco, unfortunately it is nothing more than an almost ghost town without a store or stoplight.

Anytime you see this many wind turbines, you should expect a lot of wind.  I was hoping for a tailwind, but not today.  As I said in another post, we were building character today.

Here is a new website that a new friend from Britain shared with me, check out the details, some are in Kilometers, but you get the point, big winds, and for 89% of the time. Average wind speed 21.6 mph.  I like the site, will see if I can change some more of the settings, as I have changed some of them.
